However, Joo Man wants her to treat herself better and he feels he can’t provide enough for her in terms of wealth. Sol Hee is very frugal and doesn’t spend much money on herself because she’s happy to just be with Joo Man. In terms of this couple, there is clear discord with regards to money and wealth. The excitement of new love wears out and they may seek excitement in other forms, such as going out with other people. Even though they know each other so well, they may be too comfortable with each other and take each other for granted.
This is not often discussed and it’s interesting to see the types of issues and struggles the couple face when they’ve been together for a long time. It’s different to other rom-coms in that it also explores long-term relationships, through Joo Man and Sol Hee who have been together for 6 years. Relationships come both in the form of romantic ones but also friendships. It explores this through the lens of the four main characters. I think what this show does really well is focus on two main topics: relationships and aspirations. However, she is willing to break things off with Joo Man when she realises he cheated on her and her whole world is turned upside down. She is happy to live a simple life and always willing to help out others, even if they are taking advantage of her. She is the mother of the group and is deeply in love with Joo Man.
